Can You Trust a Diary?

dear-diaryDear Diary ,
I can share my life's ups and downs with everyone but you. Yeah, I know you look pretty harmless and can be a collection of all my beautiful memories, but I also know that you are not as harmless as you look. I have heard that many of your friends open up easily to those who they are not meant to open up to. I can trust people but not you. You can betray me easily. You always get into wrong hands. Always....
It's not like I never wanted to trust you or others like you. I have tried to, but failed. I am always inconsistent in talking to you. I tried many times but I cannot make a friend out of you. I never have fun in having this one way conversation with you. Don't you understand? I want you to yell at me when I am wrong and  cheer me on when I am right. You do none of these. You just lie down, lifeless. Hearing but not listening.
Whenever any one gifts me a diary, I love it but I don't know what to do with it. First I started making slam books out of diaries, but then I stopped doing that, because I am not good at keeping slam and autograph books.
Well, now I am using you for useful matters. I am writing all my cooking recipes on you. This way I can get help from you whenever I want and you won't ever be able to betray me. I wouldn't have to worry about you. And Yeah, you look cuter this way.
Distrustfully,
my signature

P.S: This post is not written in anger :p. It shouldn't be offending to anyone, as it's my personal opinion. Also, plz take this poll and tell me if you trust your diary or not.

A Beautiful Mixture of Fall and Spring

Ok, I may not be a very good photographer, or a photographer at all :D, but I just caught this beautiful tree displaying the colors of  autumn and spring at the same time. So, I had to share it with you.

Watch me Get Over Dramatic :-p You'll Enjoy!

I put my hands on the counter with despair. How can I be so easily tempted to something like that? I look at the counter with longing and fear. I know this decision can affect me badly. I have worked so hard for this opportunity to come. I know I should not mess with it. I cough a little to clear my throat. But what more harm can it bring to me? I have been feeling bad for a couple of weeks. I don't think this make it any worse. Despite all the careful thinking, I want it. I want it very bad.
The more I try to fight this temptation, the more it grows. My mind is losing against my heart. I never make decisions like this, I remind myself. But it’s of no use.
Desperately, I run to my sister and ask her for advice. Her wise answer is the same as of my mind’s. I go back to where I stood first.
My mind has finally lost and my heart has won. I go to the place where the red bucket sits comfortably. I open the lid and take out a packet. A devil in disguise, I think to myself. I take a pot, fill it with some water, and place it on the stove that is breathing angry fire. I tear open the packet and empty it in the pot. The smell is so beautiful or maybe the temptation has amplified it. As soon my work gets done, I take the pot off the stove.
I tell my sister, “What can I do if I like spicy noodles? I know I have to go to university and do community work after a couple of days, but I have been going through this off and on flu thing for weeks. I don’t think spiny noodles can give me a sore throat.”
P.S: I am enjoying my spicy noodles. Yummy!!! Hey,was that dramatic enough?

Just a Humble Fan of Understanding Human Behavior

If I will not be able to become a doctor, I would like to become a psychologist.”
I really love psychology. I mean you look at someone and you immediately know that this person is good or bad, confident or in-confident, responsible or irresponsible, weak or strong, and so on. Psychology can either make your life easier or it can make it miserable. You may not trust anyone and it may become difficult for you to cooperate with the people around you. However, the biggest reason to love it is that you can help special children. I think that is a reason enough to love psychology.

“Hey, I do not believe in astrology. I only observe people and read about different horoscopes, as I believe that people born in the same month have similar characteristics. It just makes it easier for me to deal with different people.”
EmilysQuotes.Com-unknown-life-people-fail-reason-understanding-be-yourself
Let’s look at an example.
I am a Libra. I always had difficulty dealing with Aquarius people. But, then in college I made an Aquarius friend. I studied her behavior and through that I learned to deal with these people.
I used to tell her that, “You are under my observation, you know?” She used to smile and say, “Yes, I know.”
I learned that the people of this particular horoscope have mood swings. They may become very annoying from time to time. If you deal this through fighting, you are at loss. So, the best way to deal with them is to give them some space and keep a light mood.
I learned that they love you, but they show there love through fulfilling there duties. They love gossips (nearly all Aquarius women are like that). They are very intelligent. They will keep your secrets even after you become there enemies.
You know, I don’t understand people at times. Some people may appear very bad from the outside, but they may prove to be very good at heart. It is very difficult to judge human behavior and to make a distinction between good and bad for me.
You know some friends of yours don’t have a very good reputation, but sometimes they do something really good for you. I believe that one should be good to everyone, even such people. Maybe your personality can have some affect on them and by the way everyone has the tendency to become better. Sometimes that person turns out to have very good qualities that you might even not have.
But remember don’t trust anyone with your eyes closed.
Sometimes I want to know other people just to keep a check on my own personality. Just to keep it balanced and good.

P.S: This post is sounding like ‘Once Upon A Time’ to me. You know with the snow whites good and the evil queens evil. But what can we do, such a distinction exists.
Moreover, I am becoming an Environmental Scientist. I love this field of study and I really happy with it, Alhamdulillah.

The Return of the Attarians- A Short Story By a 14 Year Old

So, due to the positive response to my last post, I have decided to type, let’s say, the second chapter of this short story. For reading chapter 1, click here.
For those who are new to this story please keep in mind that I am not 14 now. Please forgive me if you see any grammatical mistakes :-)
You can comment and tell me if you like this story and want this story to go on, or even if you don’t like it. It will make it easier for to decide whether I should keep on writing this story or not.

“Why are you so angry? He looked like a good person to me,” he said.
“Well just leave this topic,” I said.
“Oh, no. I completely forgot to tell you. Your mom called. She told my mom that they are going to Newyork for some reason, so you’ll be staying here with us,” he said.
“Oh no!” I said sadly, “At least she should have talked to me about it.”
“What do you mean by ‘oh no’, Sera?” he asked me while trying to read the expressions on my face, “We’ll have a lot of fun. We can play video games, we can go for skating, we can…..”
“Yeah, but….” I protested.
“We can even go to meet that guy. What was his name?” he said, “Yeah, Array.”
“I don’t wanna go out there and meet anybody,” I said. He totally knew how to annoy me.
“Ok, then we’ll go to Serena’s house,” he said and looked at me as he was expecting a reply of some kind.
Yeah, he knew that I really liked hanging out with Serena. Excitement rose inside me.
“That will be fantastic, Joe” I remarked, “..and Serena, and Maria. It will be exciting, Joe.”
“That what I wanted you to say,” he said and smiled. “I am very tired. I just want to go to bed.”
“But I think your mom is waiting for us at lunch,” I reminded him.
“I completely forgot,” he exclaimed.
We ran towards the dining room.
“Hi, you kept me waiting for a very long time,” she said while looking at him with love.
We had a very fine conversation and very nice lunch. The lunch consisted of Italian food and his mother was kind enough to bake her special cupcakes for me.

“Let’s go to see Array,” he said as soon as we entered his room.I think it’s because of the sweet cupcakes. They have acted like an energy drink on him.
“Not again,” I whispered. A whisper that was drenched in annoyance.
“What?” he asked.
“Nothing. Let’s go.” I replied.
We ran towards the backyard door. He opened the door. The backyard was replaced with a desert like place. I could see the ugly looking huts everywhere. My observation was hindered when someone suddenly touched my shoulder.
“What’s up?”
I turned to see who was that. I saw a boy of our age. He had very different features.
“Who are you?” I asked.
“I am Abbay,” he replied and shifted his gaze towards Joe. Joe was a tall fair boy. He had brown almond eyes and silky brown hair. The thing that was most prominent on his face was his big round ‘Harry Potter’ glasses.
“Hey, you look interesting,” he said while his eyes moved from me to Joe and Joe to me,”I love chickens!”
“Wait, what?” I asked pushing Joe away from him.
“It’s just that I like Americans. Especially the white and fair ones.”
“Oh, I am glad to hear that,” I said trying my best to hide that I was annoyed by this encounter. “Joe! I am not feeling well. Can you come with me for a second?”
“Hello, I am Joe,” he said completely ignoring me.

The Return of the Attarians- A Short Story By a 14 Year Old

Yeah, you are right, that 14 year old was me :p (Well, I am a university student now) , and believe me there were billions of grammatical mistakes in this piece of story that I found out while cleaning a cupboard. I hope you will enjoy reading it or you'll thinks that it's stupid!
Hey, english isn't my mother language. I am a Pakistani, remember. So, please forgive me for grammatical mistakes.

The Return of the Attarians

"Well, what are you doing Joe?" I asked Joe as he was making a small car. He was always doing things like that and this was a thing that annoyed me the most.
"See. This car can move with a speed of 200 kilometer per hour," he replied excitedly,"Isn't it great?"
I didn't like this question because I was never very interested in his little inventions, but I had to say, "Yeah, it's fantastic."
"I am feeling very tired," I continued with such expressions that I knew would make him reply the same,"So, we should go to your room because you have an air conditioner in there."
"Hmm, ok. Let's go!" he said taking his newest invention in his hands.
His room was as scientific as he was. There were hundreds of cars, clocks, etc hanging here and there. I, myself, was quite girlish. You know, living in the world of castles, with long gowns, and hundreds of servants. I was always living in my imaginations, while he was practical.
"Please, wait here." he said opening his backyard door.
"All right!" I replied while sitting in the couch.
"Oh my gosh!" he said. I waited for him to return, but then came a scream, "Sera!!"
I ran to the door but he wasn't there. So, I stepped into the backyard.
"Sshh!!" came a voice. Joe's voice.
"Why were you screaming?" I asked without giving him a chance to speak.
"I have seen ten strange people," he replied and pointed.
"Hello," a man came to us. His face was pale. His eyes were big, and he had wide lips. He was a feet taller than us. I didn't like him much.
"How did you come her?" I asked.
"I'll explain it all to you later on," he replied with a very loud and grave voice, "By the way, I am not alone. I have many friends in there."
"But..." I suddenly received a kick on my leg from Joe and I reflected, "Well, It's nice to meet you."
"I am also very glad to see the faces of modern age people," he replied, "You two can come to our home. Our land is beautiful."
"Thanks. Will you tell us about your land?" said Joe. I knew that he would be glad to accept such an invitation.
"Yeah, sure!" replied the man, "My name is Array. You can give my reference to them."
I didn't want any any more conversation, so I pulled Joe back into his room.
"You are silly," I said," We don't even know who they are and what they are doing in your backyard and you..and did you pay attention to the word 'modern age'?"
"That was very interesting!" he replied.
"Interesting? Now, what kind of interest do you have with the word MODERN AGE???" I asked angrily.
"It's nothing to worry about, Sera," he said trying to pacify me. He ran to the kitchen and returned with a glass of water in his hands.
To be continued.....If demanded.....
P.S: Ok. I am tired of typing and correcting this. Its like a short novel. I am just so tired today.
Please comment if you want to read more or even if you don't.

Cloud Seeding (Artificial Induction of Rain) - An Interesting Phenomena

Are you curious about how we can artificially induce rainfall??? How can we bring rain to an area where it usually doesn't rains or an area which experiences less rainfall??? Well, read this article and find out. I hope you'll find it interesting and informative.
Before going towards cloud seeding you need to know that how rain is formed. I'll explain it in as easy words as possible.
  1. First of all, air currents enter water vapors into the atmosphere.
  2. Then, these water vapors condense onto small particles that are known cloud condensation nuclei (CCN). These particles are less than a micron (10^-6) in diameter. The condensation takes place just like water vapors condense on a sauce pan’s lid when water is boiled in it. In the same way, water vapors condense when they collide with CCN.RTEmagicC_Clouds_2_CCN.jpeg
Now, this is the step at which cloud seeding kicks in.
  1. After this step the raindrop is formed and it starts to grow in the size.collision
  2. When the droplet gains enough weight to exert force downwards and to cancel the upward thrusting force (More weight will overcome the upthrusting force), the raindrop falls to the ground. Upthrust
Now that you know the whole process, you can easily understand how we can artificially induce rain.
Sometimes it doesn’t rains in an area just because there are no CCN particles for the water vapors to condense. Or it rains less in an area because of less CCN particles in the atmosphere.
What we do in cloud seeding is that we artificially introduce CCN in the atmosphere. Once CCN particles are introduced, the water vapors begin to condense on them and the water droplet forms. After growing to its size, the rain drops fall to the ground as rain. CCN particles can be silver iodide particles, potassium chloride particles, etc. This picture perfectly represents the process of cloud seeding.
This is the perfect representation of cloud seeding
This is the perfect representation of cloud seeding
And yes even atmospheric pollutants, such as aerosols, can act as CCN. But if there are more aerosols than a certain threshold limit then they will stop clouds from raining and the cloud will continue to grow until it reaches a certain temperature, at which rainfall occurs. Now, this can affect badly, because at first there will be drought and afterwards there will be a very heavy rainfall (as the overly grown and high energy containing cloud will rain), which may result in flood. If you want to know more about this effect click here.
The lower one shows how aerosols can delay rainfall

Is cloud seeding a new terminology for you? Or, did you know it before? Even if you know more information about this topic, do tell me.

Can the Ozone Hole Be Repaired?

"Can't we fix just the ozone hole by pumping ozone into it?" This is the question that my sister asks me whenever we get into  debate about ozone hole and sadly I don't have an answer. But why should one be sad when there is internet available to help you solve the unsolved queries :-D.
content_OzoneDepletion1
Well, here is what I understand from an article that I just read.
  1. First of all, ozone production requires a lot of energy. Obviously we will need a huge quantity of ozone to fill the ozone hole, and we can not prepare that large quantity on land because it requires a lot of energy. In atmosphere this large amount of energy comes from the sun. download
  2. Secondly, if ozone is leaked during production, it will act as a pollutant in our environment. Yes!! Ozone is good in the stratosphere, but bad in the troposphere. In troposphere (the layer of atmosphere in which we live), ozone acts as a pollutant.

    Printeffects_of_ozone (1)
  3. Lastly, we do not need to patch the ozone layer ourselves. It has the ability to patch itself. The pollutants that are already present will fall off eventually. What we need to do is to stop adding pollutants that deplete the ozone layer and follow the Montreal Protocol.  According to EPA, if we keep on following Montreal Protocol, the ozone hole may patch itself by 2050.
Montreal Protocol
This Protocol was established in 1987. More than 180 countries agreed to address the problem in the Montreal Protocol. In signing the protocol, those countries agreed to root out the use of ozone-depleting chemicals like CFCs, halons and carbon tetrachloride.
So, do your best and stop or decrease the use of ozone depleting substances.

"Which One Do You Feel Comfortable to Communicate With, Speaking Or Writing?"

This question was originally asked by my English teacher during one of our classes.  At first, I got confused because I wasn't asked ever before to choose between speaking and writing, but then I made my choice and replied, "Writing, of course."

output_AIiWTd
Well, I can say that she was quite surprised when many of us answered that they feel comfortable with writing. She, herself, as I could see by the look on her face, prefered speaking over writing.
giphy (5)
She told us that speaking is easier and better because of many reasons. I am listing only a few of them.
  1. Speaking requires gestures only and you don't have to waste a lot of words to explain you emotions.
  2. You can shape your words by adjusting them to the mood of your listeners. You can even change your way of speaking to be more convincing. You can defend yourself, whenever required.
  3. No Punctuation is required.
  4. You can communicate in two way manner. You can observe the response of the audience to what you are communicating.
  5. Speech has its own grammar. So, you can be easy at grammar usage. For example, you don't have to use complete sentences at times.
I said that I feel comfortable with writing. Maybe it's because I love writing. I am very shy in formal settings, while I am very confident in informal ones. So in formal setting I can communicate better in writing. I mean I love to express myself through colorful adjectives. I also feel that through writing I can communicate my ideas more effectively, and more confidently.
images (1)
The best thing about writing is that you don't have to see the faces of your listeners. You can communicate without caring for the response you'll get. Writing makes you more brave. I love that writing has a structure and organization. You may not think before speaking, but you think before writing, so there are fewer mistakes.
It's also easy to settle disputes and say you're sorry through writing. You can say sorry to a friend who doesn't even agrees to talk to you in school by texting her a long and elaborate apology with a lot of plzzzzzz..... Trust me, I have done this before and it is effective.
Writing provides evidence. You can keep copies and do not have to worry about getting trouble for something that you didn't do or say.
But,I do love speaking too. I love speaking in informal setting, such as in friends, class fellows and family. I love making new friends and I usually don't have any trouble doing that. I am also trying to love speaking in formal settings. To express my ideas more confidently and fully.
Although I am a very talkative person, I feel uncomfortable with speaking in formal settings, such as in front of guests, in presentations, etc.
So, till the time that I become confident, I definitely love writing. Although I am good in public speaking, I would like to get better at it.
